This doesn’t have a backlight… it uses a E ink type of technology so that the screen looks like a piece of paper. That’s why I compared it to a book.
I think he was asking if it has a back light, which isn’t an unreasonable question is it?
think of it like a piece of paper. You can’t read a book in the dark can you?

a book is like 1 or 2 Megabytes, so I doubt you will ever buy 1500 books to ever fill it up.
