It should run games very well.
I have a 2.6 GHz (Single Core) PC with 768MB 800MHz ram and a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB. It runs the latest games well on medium settings.
Some of the most important factors are the CPU Bus Speed, Ram Speed, Ram Memory(MB) and the Graphics Card. And yours is MUCH better than mine.
PS: The Graphic Card is much more important than the CPU, when playing games.
However, I would have got a AMD CPU as they are better value for speed and they have a better bus as the CPU directly connects to the RAM, ulike Intel ones which connects through a Bridge (another chip). Even if Intel chips are better, get a AMD and spend the extra mony on a better graphics card. It’s worth it.
should do fine
probs not the highest settings
but should play most if not all pretty well
Thanks for all the nubers.
I have about 40 commercial games and have no problem with any of them on my desktop unit.
BUT then…
I had a problem with Neverwinter Nights (Diamonf Edition).
It would not load, even after making it compatible with previous versions of Windows.
What to do?
I loaded it into my new laptop (HP Entertainment) and voila…
it worked!!!
Why?
It seems that the laptop is 64-bit, the desktop is 32-bit.
Summary: If your laptop is 64-bit, I see no problem with any game or application you may have, I would say that your comp. seems pretty durn good.
