An elegant gift for any event:

I was missing some important documents so I asked my work collegue (who I dont meet very often) if he had it, he has so I asked him if he could put it on a memory stick and bring it to me. He agreed. I also agreed to travel for an hour and a half to meet him so that he could give it to me on his way to somewhere.

When I got there after two nearly two hours of travel, I was quite speechless… he literally brought it along in a Sony memory stick duo for cameras! That was the last thing I expected, I do not have a memory card reader at all so I could not accept it. From experience, that guy takes things too literally sometimes. But a memory stick for a memory stick?!?! What the hell?

When you ask someone to bring some computer based work in a memory stick, do you expect then to bring it in a USB flash drive or a memory stick for digital cameras?

I’m moderately-skilled XP-user. I use my computer for the regular things: researching via the Net, email, MS Office for my job and for personal stuff, watch streaming video on TV network web sites, digital camera, Sony Reader, watch DVD & Blu-Ray movies and sometimes play those on-line games that come with Windows. And hanging around at Yahoo Answers.
I have enough computer for 64-bit Windows 7 and I’m not afraid if doing the clean install and then restoring my files and programs. But then what? How will my computing experience be better?
I’ve seen the Ads and read everything I can. I don’t know anyone personally who has it.
I’d really appreciate it if someone here would give me an unbiased opinion in this. OK, biased is just fine too, Thanks in advance.
I listed things like the Sony Reader to illustrate the things I use with my computer and to show that I am not a "gamer" or a "power-user".

And a partridge in a pear tree.

I have a Sanyo SI070 digital camera. I was given a PNY Optima SD HC 120 mn HD 8GB memory card. I have a million pics on it already but I just went to transfer them to my Sony Vaio (which reads every other SD card known to man) but it keeps saying "please insert a disc into drive E" Does anyone else have this problem or know why this ONE won’t work? do I need a card reader? I don’t understand why I would when I have a special slot and every other SD card from every other phone/camera works fine. Please give me good news, it’s 8 GB which excites me, and it was a gift so I can’t return it!!! if it is just one of those fluke things, is there any other way to get these pics onto my computer? if I had a cord, I lost it. can I buy one that will transfer pics from this particular camera (and memory card) to my pc? please help! Thanks :)

Are the Kindle/Sony ebooks downloadable to my PC? Can I create my own personal library of ebooks I have purchased, and use it on all of my computers, or are they node locked? How does the digital rights management work? I don’t want anyone’s proprietary reader, but I do read a lot of free content online using my various PC’s. I don’t mind paying for books, and I like reading on my desktop and laptop PCs. I see very little additional value in a dedicated reader – I need a fully functioning PC pretty much everywhere I go anyway, so I would not willingly drag a reader around.
